How To Determine If Text Was Pasted From MS Word

  This Article will explain how to determine if text was pasted from Microsoft Word into the Inscribe or Inquiry editor.

For InScribe:

Step 1) In Inscribe, left click anywhere in the editor window. On the keyboard press Alt-Shift-H to view the source.



Step 2) In the window that just opened, press Ctrl-F on the keyboard to open the FIND window. Paste the following text, in to the FIND window.

If a box pops up that says "Text not found" then this text was not copied from word. If the cursor jumps to a line of text in blue, then it was copied from Microsoft word.

For InQuiry:

Step 1) Open the document you wish to check. Click the "EDIT" button in the toolbar. If you don't have an edit button, you would either need to find someone who can edit, or contact the Emdat Help Desk for assistance.



Step 2) Left click anywhere in the editor window. On the keyboard press Alt-Shift-H to view the source.

Step 3) In the window that just opened, press Ctrl-F on the keyboard to open the "Find" window. Paste the following text, in to the "Find" window.
