How To Configure A Recorder To Use Only One Document Type

This article will outline how to configure an Olympus Recorder to use only one Document Type.

1. Reconfigure your Recorder

    a) Go to bottom tray by clock and Right-Click InSync Icon (looks like recorder)

    b) Select Configure Olympus (followed by the model#)

    c)
Click
on the arrow, Select the user you want to configure recorder to

    d) Click OK after the user has been selected

    e) Check the single document type you use, then Click OK

    f) Turn on the recorder and plug it in

    g) Then wait 10 seconds and then Click OK

    h) Once the recorder configuration is complete unplug the recorder, and Click OK

2. Go to bottom tray by the clock and right-click the InSync icon

    a) Click Exit

3. Go to Start - All Programs - Olympus DSS Player

    a) Open the Olympus DSS Player application

    b) Plug the recorder into the computer

    c) On the bottom left hand side Find Device Manager

    d) Expand DS-2300 (NAME)

    e) Right-Click on Folder B

    f) Click Rename

    g) Rename Folder to the name of the Document Type in step 1

    h) Right-Click on Folder C

    i) Click Rename

    j) Rename Folder to the name of the Document Type in step 1

    k) Right-Click on Folder D

    l) Click Rename

    m) Rename to the name of the Document Type in step 1

    n) Right-Click on Folder E

    o) Click Rename

    p) Rename Folder to the name of the Document Type in step 1

4. Unplug Recorder

    a) Press Folder/Menu button and cycle through folders to be sure all were renamed

5. If everything looks good close the DSS Player Application, If not repeat steps.

6. Restart InSync

    a) Go to Start - All Programs - EMDAT and click on EMDAT InSync icon
