This article will discuss a method to fix a problem where you cannot create or edit a table within the editor. This includes creating a table, adding rows or columns, or deleting rows or columns, etc.

This problem affects the editor in InScribe, InQuiry or InCommand.

In InQuiry or InCommand, the internet window may crash when any function with a table is attempted.
In InScribe the functionality might just not work. You might also receive an error message.

This is caused by an old version of a Microsoft component that is installed on the computer. This could be due to another program installed that is not compatible with your computer's operating system or some other system incompatibility.

In order to fix this, please do the following:

1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\TriEdit\

2. Find a file called TriEdit.dll

3. Rename this file to TriEdit.dll.old

4. Run the installation for the Emdat Runtime Components again.
