Layout Of Emdat Articles

When creating articles on www.emdathelp.com, please make sure to follow the following sample layout for consistency across all articles.  Always have an opening paragraph explaining what you want to accomplish with this article.  Also, please fully justify paragraph text so that left and right margins are justified.  When listing steps or things to check, please use the numbered list as follows.  You may have to be in COMPLETE MODE to do see all Toolbar Options (bottom right of editor).

  1. This would be the first item on the list
  2. This would be the second item on the list
    • This is an item under #2
    • This is an item under #2
  3. This is the 3rd item.

Always close the article with a closing paragraph that wraps up what you are trying to accomplish.  If your article is related to other articles, you can click on the Advanced Options tab (above) so that related articles will show up when your article is displayed.  You must enter as many keywords as possible before saving your article so that it may be found by users.  The Description is also important as part of the search criteria.

You may enter pictures to help describe a problem by being in the COMPLETE mode of the editor (bottom right) and selecting an image:



Please make sure that if using links to other sites, that you use the link icon on the toolbar (chain is on the picture) to create your links and make sure a NEW WINDOW is opened when the link is clicked.
