Playback Speed Bar Not Adjusting The Speed In InScribe

This article contains troubleshooting steps to assist in correcting issues with the playback rate of Windows Media Player within InScribe. Please start with the first step, and work your way down checking after each step to see if it is resolved before trying the next step.

  • Make sure you are on the most current version of Windows Media Player. The latest version of Microsoft Windows Media Player can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx?displang=en&qstechnology= , just select the latest version for your version of Windows.
  • If you have Realplayer installed on your PC, we recommend uninstalling it. Realplayer has been know to conflict with the playback rate slider bar within InScribe. This can be removed by going to the Control Panel in Windows and to the Add/Remove Programs section, select Realplayer and then remove/uninstall it.
  • If after removing Real Player the playback rate still does not function you will need to delete the Real Player directory if it still exists on the PC. Bring up the contents of you C: drive, go into the "Program Files" directory and look for a directory called Real. When you find it, right click on it and select delete.
  • Make sure your sound card drivers are up to date.
